Meet Pastor Bill Wilson
A United Methodist Pastor for the past 47 years, Pastor Bill has served rural, small town and suburban churches throughout Southern New Jersey. He is a 1976 graduate of Rowan University with a B.A. in Psychology and attended Wesley Theological Seminary where he obtained a Master of Divinity in 1979 and Doctor of Ministry in 1994.
In 1978, Pastor Bill was ordained as a Deacon and welcomed as a probationary member of the Greater New Jersey Conference. In 1980, he became a full conference member and Elder in 1980.
Pastor Bill recently moved back to his childhood farm in Mullica Hill, NJ, with his wife Dawn, a Special Education Teacher at Gateway Regional High School. After 38 years of marriage, they have two sons, Wil (Ashley), and Lou (Christa), and seven grandchildren; Rosie, Sage, Nico, Aria, Tre, Wes and Myrna.
Shortly after announcing his retirement just earlier this year, he announced he would be coming out of retirement, feeling called to continue as pastor at Historic St. George’s.
Pastor Bill enjoys history, walking, nature, swimming, traveling (especially cruising), and hanging out with family and friends. In addition, he has a passion for creating disciples out of followers and growing the church of Jesus Christ.
“As pastor of Historic St. George’s, I love the long and vital history which has happened here. I look forward to HSG continuing to make history by reaching out to the local community as well as to the World. I’m excited to be the pastor here and look forward to what God is calling us to do in the days ahead.”
