Discover your Methodist DNA

Join St. George’s for Time Traveler, an immersive program and tour, exploring our Methodist Heritage. This program is perfect for confirmation classes, young adults, new members, or just-plain-curious folk.

You won’t want to miss this popular way to experience your denomination’s beginnings, and meet other Methodists that are carrying the faith into the future.

Over 3,500 Methodist and AME confirmands and their hosts from NY, NJ, DE and PA have come to Historic St. George’s to explore the history and the relevance of Methodism.

Fees: Please note-Total number of participants includes both youth and adults. If the total attending is 1- 9 ( Adults & youth), the fee is $75 ; 10-19 total attendees, the fee is $100, and 20 and over total attendees, the fee is $150.

An Immersive Program

Participants will enjoy an experience of Methodist History that will deepen the understanding and connect you with the larger faith community. Professional actors join us to help tell the important stories of this “Cradle of American Methodism.” March 2024, we tried something a little different in order to expose all participants (both youth and adults) to the content we previously presented in small groups. Going forward, that is the format we will be using. Contact Mona Gardiner (mona@historicstgeorges.org) for further information or to register.

Resources for Youth Leaders

Our 2013 Temple University Cultural Fieldwork Initiative interns, Jared Stock and Shawn Reath, devised a resource for teaching Civil Rights history. These include two lesson plans, a scavenger hunt, and multiple online references. Use the below resources to enrich discussions after you attend Time Traveler.
